Thanks we are shook up and still in shock but alive. All of you praying people out there, please pray for us. The aftershocks keep coming.

We are glad to hear you are OK, Russ, and you are definitely in our thoughts. Also glad to see that you are able to get online - this morning I was talking with a Japanese co-worker who was finding it very hard to get information because the phones were so tied up. Are you able to get news and communicate with others over there?
The news we are getting is incomplete but clearly catastrophic - my heart goes out to all the people affected by it.
Take care,
Matthew

Russ - I can only echo what the others have been saying. I was very glad to see your message on your website main page.

Words are totally inadequate to describe the devastation and I cannot begin to imagine how long the recovery will take.

Hope to hear that everything begins to settle soon and the aftershocks stop.

Dear Russ,

I hope you and your family will come out of this tragedy in good health and as safe as possible under the circumstances. Thanks for the messages on your site to keep us all informed.

I'm sure my fellow sketchers will agree that we will do whatever we can to help you through this, with prayers, positive energy, communication and financial contributions. Please take care and do not hesitate to call upon us for help.

As Daniel and Matthew say, Russ....I am sure
they speak for all of the gang here. Let us
know if there is anything that we can do.
Love & prayers,

Thanks everyone, the aftershocks have decreased in number and intensity and we are trying to resume normal life -- at least those living in Tokyo. Those nearer the epicenters are still struggling and desperate. Today there's a cold rain.

Please remember the nuclear power plant situation in your prayers. Thanks!

If I were in distress, as I'm sure I would be, if I were in Japan right now, I would feel deeply grateful if people came to me for the kind of work I love to do.
It is not necessary to wait for Russ to ask for help, if you are in a position to do it... You can show Russ he is in your thoughts, as well as possibly keep him busy with the work he loves so much:

If you order something, I hope you can be patient if communication and shipping takes longer than usual.

Russ: I hope I am not suggesting something that might actually add stress at this time -- I just think this is what I would want, if I were in your shoes right now.
